Posco, Vedanta seeks more time for SEZ projects in Orissa

NEW DELHI: Unable to proceed with their projects due to different reasons, Vedanta Aluminium and Posco have sought more time from the Centre to implement their respective special economic zones (SEZs). 

An inter-ministerial Board of Approval (BoA), chaired by Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar, will consider both the requests on March 13, according to documents. 

While South Korean steel major Posco's project is getting delayed because of land issue, Vedanta Aluminium has some issues with their captive power plant, an official said. 

Mumbai to host business meet for small, medium enterprises


NASHIK: A business conference for Small andMedium Enterprises (SMEs) on business opportunities abroad has been planned by the World Trade Centre (WTC), Mumbai, and the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) in Mumbai.

"With an aim to provide business opportunities overseas to SMEs in the country, the WTC and the AIAI have jointly organized a three-day business-to-business (B2B) conference titled 'Indiallia' from April 23 to 25 in Mumbai," said Khyati Naravane, assistant director, trade promotion, WTC, Mumbai.
